New born Stone Wills Wisham.

Wow is this guy a cutie! I am very happy for Bek and Dave and their little boy Stone is adorable! These pic's were taken about 90 minutes after his birth.

Rockin the mohawk!

Today was an amazing day, meeting my new nephew and being with my family on such a special day. Now for the story of my troubled daughter. Annie and I watched Cor while Bek and Dave were in the hospital and all the kids had been playing with legos. Annie was watching them while I was in the shower. When I was done with the shower Annie came upstairs with this look on her face that means only one thing, one of the kids had done something that was less than ok. Annie then told me that Grace had stuck a lego up her nose. Annie and I both looked in her nose and both saw a green lego rather far up her nostril. We tried to get it but couldn't, so off to the ER Gracie and I went. Once at the ER the Dr was easily able to remove the green lego. Being diligent the Dr. decided to check her nose again...... he found another lego in the same nostril even farther up than the last. UGH....... Oh well, all is well now and I don't think she will ever put anything up her nose again!

Five year old Garret!

It is so hard to believe that my little boy is now 5. I remember holding him on my chest when he slept and how much I loved feeling his breath on my neck. No when he gets close to my neck I'm afraid he's going to lick me and he is way to big to lay on my chest. I have loved every single minute of being a dad to Garret and am looking forward to see how my boy grows!

This picture was not set up at all. Garret was just relaxing and Grace climbed up on his lap and they laid there together for at least 30 seconds before there was pushing and screaming! It was awesome!

Three year old Corlen!!!!!

Today we celebrated Cor's third birthday. He is a good boy and is fun to be around. We went to Art Sports today and got to play on trampolines, in foam pits and on various other fun stuff. The kids did awesome and it was fun to see how much Cor has grown in the past three years. I am proud of my nephew and love him dearly!

Fun at Cor's birthday party!

Who says birthday parties are for kids, I thought it was a swinging good time!

I LOVE MY FAMILY!

Sometimes the stress of life and the business gets in the way of what is most important. This has been more clear to me lately and I have vowed to keep the most important things in my life, the most important. Along with the Wishams we went to a local farm and pumpkin patch and had a wonderful day.

Posing for the camera.

Grace is two approaching three and she has more attitude that most teenagers. She is not afraid of anything and is full of love.

Garret will turn five in one month. He is a lover and takes care of his family. He is a fun boy to be around and you can always count on him for a laugh.

At the farm we went to they had a 100 foot slide down a hill into a ravine. Garret and Grace went on the slide numerous times by themselves and once together. Grace is unafraid and as you can see in this picture Garret is trying make sure Grace doesn't get hurt. He is holding tightly to his sisters arm holding her up. Right after this picture was taken the kids took a spill and Grace hit the hay bails.

High atop the mountain of hay, a beautiful family and one lucky dad / husband!

So like I said earlier, my "life" has been so busy that watching Garret and Grace grow is like watching video on fast forward. After the farm trip we came home and mommy and the kids took a nap. Garret woke up, came downstairs and promptly fell asleep on the couch. I just happened to be looking at a picture of him on the computer from Bekah and Dave's wedding when he wasn't even one year old. Looking at the difference between the boy on the couch and the baby in the picture made me want to slow life down.

The love you give will be the love you receive!

When Garret and Grace get hurt, Annie and I take care of them. We wash their wounds, love on them and tell them, when needed, to be more careful. This past Sunday a friend and I decided to go mountain biking. Just as I do with him when he rides his bicycle, he told me to be careful and to not go too fast. Garret told me that if my friend is going to fast that I should just go at my own pace. I'm pretty sure most of what he said were quotes from me.

While riding my bike I scraped my leg a little bit and had a couple of bloody scratches. When I got home Garret lectured me on being careful and reminded me that he had warned me about going too fast. I explained to Garret that I didn't fall and that the scratches were from tree branches and from my the pedals of my bike.

Garret walked into the kitchen, wet a towel, walked over to me and began cleaning my wounds. As he did this he talked softly to me about how you must keep wounds clean and how everything would be ok.

This incident made me realize just how important it is how you handle or deal with kids and issues. You never know when the tables will turn...

My kids!

Garret played his official first year of baseball (t-ball) this year. We all had a good time watching him play and he truly enjoyed the game!

Gracie at Sky Sox stadium. I'm not sure who taught her to stick out her tongue during pictures:)

Runnin for the cure.

So this summer Annie decided she wanted to start running and I am proud of her accomplishments. She has run in two races with the last being the Susan G. Koman race for the cure. My lovely wife ran on behalf of my mother who is a breast cancer survivor. She ran with shin splints on a cold morning and refused to give up or stop. Running this race brought on a lot of emotions for my family, especially for my mom! We thank all who ran and who support finding the cure for cancer!

I am an official blogging slacker!

So it has been a while since I last updated this blog. Lots of exciting things have happened and the kids are growing way too fast. Annie and Garret are back in school, we all have been / are sick and it has already snowed on us. Gracie is getting big and still has me wrapped around her little finger. Since I am a slacker and have not blogged much I am going to have to catch things up in segments so here we go....

Annie and I decided to enjoy a belated anniversary gift of white water rafting and zip lining with some of my friends from work. As most people know, I am TERRIFIED of heights so the zip line brought out my fearful side as I jumped of a cliff with a small, small rope keeping me from falling to the ground. The first cliff was the hardest and I am not ashamed to say that I cried a little when I jumped. This picture is of me on the practice line that was low and slow.

My fearless wife was not afraid at all and was happy to throw herself off of every cliff. She even tried to push me off of one!

Annie and I had talked about white water rafting for a very long time and were excited to finally have the chance to do it. We had a blast even though Annie fell off once and found herself under the boat while the boat was wrapped on a large rock. My friend Clint also fell off the boat at the same time and as I reached into the water to pull him out, Annie popped up right in front of him. Scared me to death because I didn't know she fell out and unfortunately for Clint, I pulled Annie in first!

I am photogenic! Look at the ears, the small helmet, the small vest and the big ol' belly. I am bringing sexy back!

Coming soon.... more pictures of my wonderful wife and my fantastic kids. Pretty sure there is no need for more pictures of me!!

Vacation 2009

We just got back from vacation with the family and it was a blast!  Missouri was fantastic and the weather was perfect.  The only issue was that time went too fast.

My baby girl is not afraid of anything.  She wanted to swim all by herself and wanted no help!

This picture is Annie's first time water skiing!  It may have taken her a couple of times to get out of the water but she did fantastic and I was proud of her.

This is my Aunt's boat dock.  Early morning sun on the water is hard to beat!

Garret, Papa Uncle Terry and I tried fishing.  We didn't catch much but it was still fun.

One day on the lake a few of us went out on the big pontoon boat for some sight seeing.  During the trip a huge rain squall hit us hard.  Hail, winds and waves!  We all got soaked, laughed a lot and will never forget how much fun it was.

My crew.

This is the investigations division at my Sheriff's Office.  We don't usually get all dressed up in our uniforms but the day of this picture was also an awards ceremony during "Law Enforcement Week."  I'm in the back row hiding!

Gracies nails.

So, my daughter loves to have her finger and toe nails painted thanks to her mommy and aunt.  Yesterday it was just the kids and I and Grace walks up to me and said, "Daddy paint my n'nails pretty please."  What is a father to do but find the fingernail polish, and try not to spill the bottle while trying to paint my baby girls nails.  Honestly, it was kinda fun to spend that kind of time with my daughter and I would do it again in a heart beat!

The first fishing trip of the year.

Garret and I have been talking about going fishing for a few weeks now and yesterday we got our gear ready.  We decided as long as it wasn't raining when we woke up we would head to the lake and see what we could catch.  Early than I had hoped, Garret woke up ready to go fishing.  We picked up papa and headed to the lake.  We caught three decent fish in a few hours and had a great time!

Garret using his net to catch fish.

Ahhhh, the first fish of the year!

The dinosaur song!!!!

So it is that time of year where cookouts with friends and family begin, school years end and fun in the sun is a daily event.  Cor, Garret and Grace are doing very well and are excited for Bekah's next baby.  Mom and Dad bought a new Minivan today that will be absolutely perfect for them, lots of room and storage.  Annie and I are excited for the summer and can't wait for a vacation.  It literally has been years since I took a real vacation from work.  It is exciting to think that I will be able to get away for a while.  We hope and pray that everyone is doing well!
Enjoy the video of Dave singing to the kids, it was priceless!!!!!

Nana

So if there is one person in the family who is hard to capture on film it is Mom.  So at the picnic yesterday I was bale to get a few pictures with out her knowing right away.  She asked / threatened politely that I not post any pictures of her on this blog.  I have trouble with my hearing and thought she said please, pretty please post a picture of me!

As you can see, Tatters is doing well after his surgery.  Mom has to keep him some what quiet, no running and no playing until he heals, but he is doing well.

First picnic of the year!

So last Friday it was snowing like crazy, today it is 70 degrees outside and it was a perfect day to hit the park.  We met Nana, Papa and cousin Cor and the duck park.  You would have thought the kids hadn't played in years they way they ran around and played.  We bought a new frisbee and Garret chased that think clear across the park, literally.  We had a quick picnic, fed the duck's and then right back to running around playing.  Garret didn't want to leave the park and once in the car told me he wasn't tired and didn't want to take a nap.  He was asleep in the car within a few minutes!!!

Here are just a few pictures of the kids at the park.

Garret, cousin Cor and Gracie!

Today was a good day and I was happy to be with the kids, it was too bad mommy had to work but we still had a lot of fun!
